Description

This is an original US Army Model 1860 Staff Officers sword. In 1872 this model was made standard for most US Army officers other than Cavalry or Medical Officers.

This model appears to have been made between 1875-1880 the best we can determine. Condition is as seen- blade is intact with patina on it, the engraving can still be seen. Handle is in good shape with patina as shown with the shark skin handle in still in nice shape. The cap over the pommel is missing. No scabbard.

While not the finest condition example this sword is a nice solid original and is makes a great example in your collection that you can handle and allow others to handle without worry about damaging it.
